Jola Jablonska - Founder of JJD - is a native of Poland, where she studied and earned a Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from Warsaw's University of Life Sciences.
In 1999 she completed an internship at Old World Design in Stamford, Connecticut, then returned to Poland to begin her design career at Gardens magazine. In 2000 she moved to Chicago to accept a position as a designer at Group Arcreo's architectural office, where she worked on commercial and multiresidential projects. Jola has also worked on community projects like parks, playgrounds, and site developments, with such clients as the Chicago Park District. In 2008 Jola formed JJD to pursue her interest in design as a freelance consultant, focusing on client relations, creative design solutions, and project management. Jola is also a passionate traveler and photographer.
Francois Geneve is native of France, where he studied engineering and product design. In 1979, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Product Design from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d’Arts in Paris.
In 1980, he moved to Chicago to further his studies in product design and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle campus where, in 1982, he completed a Master’s in Fine Art. After an internship at the Schwinn Bicycle Company in Chicago, he co-founded the Tres Design Group product design firm. In 2001 he took the opportunity to design a signature restaurant for locally renowned chef Shawn McClain; this project furthered his interest in design for the hospitality industry and he has since created several award-winning restaurant interiors. His passion for design is expressed in many forms of creativity which he applies to both commercial and residential projects.
